Description

Class Experience

Over the years I have loved helping children and teens from 2 years old to 19 improve their speech, language, auditory, phonics, reading and brain fitness skills and much more. I meet my students where they are at their level. As I teach, I adjust to help reluctant learners as well as others who may need or want more challenge. I have decades of experience teaching each of these types of learners within the same class. I try to make my classes engaging and fun. I have a wide range of experience that includes teaching those on the autism spectrum, learning disabled students, add/adhd and many more areas of concern, as well as, experience teaching regular and gifted learners. I have found that patient encouragement in a structured and energetic yet relaxed classroom environment helps learners brains focus to receive information better and helps them become detail oriented.
No homework completion is required. However, one or more optional practice worksheets might be available in the classroom after class. Helpful tips learned during class will also be available in the classroom after class.
Learners will have the option to download and print out the daily provided reading passage from the classroom. I will also screen share the reading passage during class for those who prefer not to have a printed copy. Learners should have a pencil with an eraser or erasable pen and a sheet of paper in case it is needed for notes or to write answer choices to help with comprehension. Passages will be available in the classroom 12-24 hours prior to class start time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
