Students should have one subject they’d like to discuss. It’s whatever they enjoy.Class Experience
The greatest fear of adults is public speaking, which is why learning to do so at a young age is critical and the foundation for confidence and success. The class will learn the mechanics of public speaking from body language to eye contact. We’ll then shift to the keys to speeches – how to organize points and keeping it simple. The biggest key – make one point. So many successful people struggle in public speaking while others thrive because they communicate effectively. Award-winning journalist Rick Snider has appeared on hundreds of TV and radio shows and has his own YouTube channel – Rick Snider’s Washington – that drew 5 million viewers across social media in its first year. A 46-year journalist, Rick shows students how to feel comfortable speaking before others through confidence, organization and humor. Class is limited to five students to provide time for each to practice.
Learning Goals
How to speak simply and comfortably before others while organizing thoughts for effective speeches. Students will gain confidence in themselves and learn leadership by speaking publicly.
