Description
Class Experience
Students will solve simple one and two-variable equations. Students will use various problem-solving strategies to solve real-life applications. Students will analyze and interpret a given set of data. Students will use basic properties of the number system.
I am offering this class because some students that attempt Algebra 1 have low confidence and need to be better prepared. I teach to my students not the book. I have been teaching mathematics for more that twenty years, and I believe that all students can succeed. Come join my class!
Students will be assigned 2 - 4 assignments per week. I will Grade work submitted in a timely manner and return to student as soon as possible. Transcript of grades will be given at the end of semester.
1 file available upon enrollmentCourse Materials: Spiral notebook for organizational purposes. Create dividers to keep notes, course work and handouts, tests and quizzes Computer/ Printer/Copy Paper Paper/Pencil Calculator (not required but recommend so that students can use them on their own) at times students will be required to do their math without the use of a calculator
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will have Exit Quizzes per lesson each week. Formative assessments will check for understanding weekly during the on-line meeting time. A summative assessment will be assigned at the end of a unit/chapter.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
