Welcome,

* Note: This class is only for Phonics, blending, fluency, ect. This class does not cover reading comprehension. Please see my Let's Go Reading class for reading comprehension.

This course is Levels 4 and 5 of my reading program for upper elementary and middle school students who are struggling readers due to dyslexia and other learning disabilities. The levels in my program are NOT related to grade level. Please see the skills in the description. This class is designed to help students with exceptionalities, including ADHD, autism, reading anxiety, English language learners, and other learning difficulties. This class is focused on constructing and repairing the foundations of successful reading. Students will participate in evidence-based reading strategies such as blending exercises, short and long vowel practice, digraph and trigraph practice, CVC Words, spelling, sentence writing, and fluency exercises. In addition, students will participate in custom-tailored presentations that are stimulating and evoke interest in the topic. My strategy for helping struggling students become better readers has proven to be very successful. This class is largely organized according to The Orton-Gillingham methodology, which is language-based, multisensory, structured, sequential, cumulative, and cognitive.
