WANTED: Amazing learners who love to solve puzzles, brainteasers, and riddles. Do you like challenging your brain? Do you want to learn strategies on how to solve puzzles? Then I need you on my detective team for this camp! Using a slideshow presentation, I will read the mystery story to the team. The story will stop several times, and there will be 5 puzzles to solve for each mystery. It is important to me that all learners feel confident and successful in this class. If one learner is allowed to shout out the answer to the puzzle right away, this does not allow the others to have the chance to solve it. All brains work differently, and this is not a competition. So, while the learners are working on the solution to a puzzle, all learners mute themselves. When a learners have an answer to share, they send it to me by Chat. This allows me to let them know if they are correct, if they are on the right track, or if I can guide them to the answer in a different way, without affecting the other learners' chances to solve the puzzle. I monitor all learners, give clues, and provide feedback on their guesses. After all have had the chance to try to solve the puzzle, learners have the opportunity to share thoughts or questions with the team. Then, the story will continue until the next puzzle. If learners are unable to use Chat or are uncomfortable with it, there is an option B. In those situations, learners are asked to raise their hand if they have a guess to the answer to the puzzle. They will need to bring extra patience, as I will need to respond to all the learners who use Chat first. Again, this is to make sure that all learners have the opportunity to work through the process without someone else "giving away" the answer. Day One- The Mystery at the Fire Station Day Two - The Mystery at The Frosty and Fruity Ice Cream Shop Day Three - The Mystery at The Furry Friends Animal Shelter Day Four - The Mystery at the Red Rock Restaurant

Learning Needs
As a mother of an amazingly autistic teen, I understand and strongly believe that all learners need to feel safe and comfortable. Before class, if there is anything I should know that would help your learner succeed, please let me know!
Supply List
No materials are needed. However, learners are always welcome to bring paper and pencil if that would help them work through their thinking. Some learners even like to write down the puzzles to share with others after class. In addition, fidget items, drinks, and food are always welcome.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am so excited to have your child in class! Together, we will have fun while we explore many topics. I strive to help every learner feel welcome, safe, and accepted. If I can help in any way to make sure your learner is successful in my class, please contact me. As a mom to an amazing autistic daughter, I truly understand the need to feel completely safe and accepted.
I live in the midwest with my daughter and our five pets. There is never a dull moment in our home with a Shih-Tzu, Maltese-Shihtzu, three cats, and a hedgehog!
I look forward to seeing your child in my class soon!
