Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
In our ongoing class together, we will be learning about animals and their habitats by putting together puzzle pieces. We’ll be exploring various types of animals, while gathering puzzle pieces with relevant information about each animal, such as the type of diet, which we’ll put together to guess the animal.

The learners will uncover new and unique species, as well as revisit favorite ones: such as the okapi of the rainforest and the cheetah of the savanna. These classes will be enjoyable for each learner as they interact and engage with the quest of identifying the animals. The learners won’t need any prior knowledge to attend this ongoing class. So, come join us as we experience some of nature’s wonders-animals!

Each week we'll have a different animal puzzle to do:

Sunday, January 5- mammal
Sunday, January 12- bird
Sunday, January 19- reptile
Sunday, January 26 - amphibian

Learning Goals

After completing each class learners will be able to:
•	Describe the animal of the week
•	Identify the habitat of that animal

Welcome!

It continues to be a privilege to teach on Outschool, and a joy to be able to reach learners around the world. I’m Shelmika or Mrs. Seashell, and I am just as excited to be teaching today on Outschool as I was a year ago.

I was a Homeschool parent of three, but all three of my children have graduated as of May 2023, and now attend different universities across the US. As I enjoyed the daily experience of teaching my children, I also had the opportunity to volunteer as a pre-school teacher. Additionally, at a local school district, I worked as a Social Service Advocate, supporting learners outside the classroom. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree, and have completed some graduate education coursework as well.

As a teacher, I especially enjoy exploring the world around us through nature studies. Therefore, my Outschool library of classes will mainly include Science/Nature classes. During each class, I enjoy participation from all learners, so discussion is encouraged, and I endeavor to create a safe and relaxed environment with engaging material that will boost a learner’s interest, and thereby their love of learning.

I’m excited to guide your learner on their knowledge quest, and I hope to see them soon on Zoom!

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.
