Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
The Mental Math Multi-Day Multiplication class was created for three groups of students.

The first group are the students who are just learning their multiplication facts and need that extra assistance with accuracy, tips, and mental visualization. These are the students who will follow the syllabus provided for this class.

The second group are the students who have been working with multiplication facts for a while and need extra assistance with certain facts and mental visualization. These are students who usually need assistance with the facts that do not have a numerical rhythm to them; 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, ...

The third group are the students who have been working with multiplication facts for a while, have mastered most of them, but need assistance or a refresher to build accuracy and confidence. Also, to increase their mental visualization to increase their recall. These students are usually older students grade 5 and above.

In this class, the student will learn, practice, and improve upon multiplication skills. The teacher will introduce strategies to facilitate mental visualization and recall of multiplication facts. There will be a nightly homework assignment to practice the multiplication facts.

This class is hand-on, visual, auditory, and interactive. The student will be able to engage with the teacher through discussion and problem solving.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Carla, and I am always excited about teaching and cannot wait to teach your learner. My favorite subjects, personally and to teach, are math, reading, writing, and science.

I have taught students through Outschool for the past two and a half years. For over 15 plus years I have been employed in diverse roles within the education sector. I have been a teacher, substitute teacher, instructional support, lead teacher in a childcare facility, volunteer, and tutor. I have my Associates of Science in Office Information Systems, Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and Master of Education Degree (PK-8), and I have also been fortunate to work with students who were high schoolers, special needs, and homebound.

In my class, your student will use their prior knowledge, share ideas, participate through discussion to help develop their academic and social skills. I look forward to getting to know your student and learn how they learn to better support them in their success in school.

Not only do I enjoy teaching, but I am also an entrepreneur, avid gardener, crafter, and carpenter.
