Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, your learner will begin to read using the Bob Books Stage 1: Beginning Reader. The first class will begin with beginning letter sounds that will be used in the lesson. Also, teacher created flashcards, consisting of words from the books will be reviewed. Once the letter sounds and words are complete, we will delve right into the book. The classes after the first meeting, will consist of the same agenda, but the first few minutes of class will be spent reading the book from the class before. It will consist of reviewing the sight words from the books, letter recognition, and sounds. Each book will have a worksheet for your learner to write and create their own sentences using the sight words from the lesson. Your learner can have their personal copy of the Bob Books to follow along in class, it is not mandatory. This class is interactive, hands-on, visual, and participation is key. Teacher and student interaction will be during discussion, reading, and flashcards. Your learner should know the alphabet and some letter sounds.
