This test prep course is BEST for students planning to take the ACT on April 5, June 14, or July 12, 2025. Earlier test dates would not provide enough time to prepare for this exam. Please also note that the tutor will base the practice sessions on the tutor's instructional resources. Parents may provide any study resource that the student is using, and the tutor may include these resources in the study plan, but this material may not be the sole content for exam preparation. Students complete a pre-assessment which will be used to measure improvements in scores. Individualized practice exam questions will be used during sessions. Students engage with the tutor using a digital interactive whiteboard. Progress reports are provided after each tutoring session. Timed testing will be emphasized. The ACT (American College Testing) test is a standardized test used to assess high school students’ readiness for college-level academic work. It measures knowledge and skills in English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. This course is designed to assist students review or develop math skills to improve scores in mathematics and the optional science part of the exam. Math areas include: Pre-Algebra (20-25%) Elementary Algebra (15-20%) Intermediate Algebra (15-20%) Coordinate Geometry (15-20%) Plane Geometry (20-25%) The science part of the exam is optional but great scores may improve the overall college application. This test measures a student's ability to interpret, analysis, evaluation, reasoning and problem-solving skills required in biology, chemistry, Earth/space sciences and physics. Students will be instructed on how to read and interpret the three question types including questions based on content such as: Interpretation of Data (40–50%) Scientific Investigation (20–30%) Evaluation of Models, Inferences, and Experimental Results (25–35%)
