1:1 ACT Prep: Reading-Strategies, Content, and Practice for the Test and Beyond

Welcome to our focused one-on-one ACT Reading Prep class, designed to empower your success on the exam! We will delve into both essential strategies and comprehensive content for mastering the ACT Reading section, which emphasizes both speed and comprehension.

For those who haven't attended the ACT Reading Workshop, our first session will blend lectures with practical exercises. You will be introduced to all relevant test content and strategies, giving you the tools needed to excel. Throughout the session, you’ll actively practice the skills and concepts covered, so be sure to download the notebook to engage fully—take notes and mark it up as we progress. You’ll also be assigned a practice test to complete before our next meeting.

If you’ve already taken the ACT Reading Workshop, we’ll hit the ground running in our first session by diving directly into the test material.

During our second session, we’ll focus on correcting the assigned homework. This is an opportunity to review and address any challenging concepts that arose during your practice. Following the corrections, you’ll begin another practice test, this time tackling one passage at a time under timed conditions, with corrections and reviews at the end of each passage. You’ll be assigned another practice test for homework, again completing it one passage at a time.

In our third session, we’ll again start with corrections from your homework, providing targeted practice on any troublesome concepts. After addressing the homework, you will transition to another practice test, completing two passages at a time with a timer, followed by corrections and reviews for each group of passages. Another practice test will be assigned as homework, focusing on two passages at a time.

Finally, in our last session, we’ll begin with homework corrections to reinforce your understanding of any concepts that need extra attention. Once we’ve addressed those, you’ll undertake a full practice test under timed conditions, followed by thorough test corrections. This comprehensive approach ensures you are fully prepared to conquer the ACT Reading section!
