This is a four-session, 1.5 hour class for students preparing to take the ACT Reading Section. The ACT Reading section covers speed and comprehension.
Class experience
US Grade 9 - 12
This is a one-on-one ACT Reading Prep class. We will cover both strategies and content for success on the exam. The ACT Reading section covers speed and comprehension. If students did not take the ACT Reading Workshop, the first session will be a combination of lecture and practice. Students will be introduced to all the content and strategies of the test. Students will gain both skill and confidence needed to be successful on both the ACT Reading Exam and higher level academic reading requirements.
I am a certified secondary English teach with a BA and MA in English. I have tutored ACT English and ACT Reading for several years. The materials that we use is content that I have gathered and written for my face-to-face ACT students.
Homework Offered
Students will review their notes during the week between sessions. They will also have one ACT Reading Practice test to complete every week. We will start with the homework at the beginning of the session. Depending on the amount of review they need to do, it should take no more than 1.5 hours a week.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

We will use The Official ACT Test Prep Guide - 2023-2024, ACT Reading notebook file, and past ACT Reading exams.
