Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 11
This (private ongoing) one-on-one tutoring class is designed to provide homework assistance, test preparation, or work on advanced skills. Each session is designed to improve the learner's confidence to assist them in the mastery of concepts in Geometry.

Your child may have been impacted by the changes in educational delivery which resulted in learning delays or gaps that make it difficult to keep up in class. My passion is to identify problem areas and provide simplistic instruction to get your child back on track. My goal is to equip your child with the tools to improve confidence and performance in Geometry.

Students seeking to keep up and get ahead will also find benefits in math tutoring. Your child will learn how to master current topics and an introduction to Geometry. I also work with students who plan to take Geometry.

My teaching method is to guide students in finding the answers by helping them to understand the rules of math. Students work on practice problems and I provide feedback. I encourage questions and I strive to make the sessions a positive and productive experience.

To be successful, my preference is to communicate with the parent and/or learner to develop an effective tutoring plan. Previous exams, topics covered in the class, and if possible, a class syllabus are useful in personalizing the plan. Students who do best in these sessions are interested in learning how to solve the problems.

If the listed schedule does not meet your needs, please email a schedule that works best for you and your child.

Learning Goals

G.SRT.2: Similarity, Congruence, and Transformational Geometry
Students will analyze and apply the principles of geometric transformations, similarity, and congruence. They will understand how geometric figures can be manipulated, compared, and proven.
G.CO.1: Geometric Reasoning and Logical Argumentation
Students will develop the ability to construct and evaluate geometric proofs, understand the fundamental principles of logical reasoning, and apply deductive reasoning to geometric problems.
