Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
This course will cover how the scientific method is used in labs. Specific topics will include how to design a hypothesis-driven experiment, definition of null and alternative hypothesis, and how to gather data. The course will also explore how to analyze data and write up results and a conclusion using primary and secondary resources. My teaching approach for the course is a discussion format using slides with examples of work. I use guided questions to encourage feedback and critical thinking and assign the lab report in parts. The class structure will consist of reviewing each assignment in which the teacher will provide feedback that the student will be expected to correct or improve prior to the next meeting.
