Class Experience

***EACH STUDENT MUST ENROLL SEPARATELY BUT THEY CAN PARTICIPATE TOGETHER AND BUILD TOGETHER ON SOME CHALLENGES. This is mainly due to spaces in the class. You can then share a computer when you login.***

BEFORE ENROLLING - Please read through all of the information. :)

WHAT TO EXPECT
Each class will consist of a building challenge with twists and turns. In some classes, students will have timed builds and others will be more free-flowing. There are NO RULES for building, and there will be activities in the classes and stuff to do at home as well.
Each day is a NEW topic. Each summer has new topics and themes. I have building challenges and fun hands-on activities for them to do through the week and in class. This camp is always changing and is different each summer.

Summer 2023 Schedule

Class 1 Topic - GAME DAY!

In class: I will give students a game to play, and they will be timed. They will then have to build on the topic I give them in reference to the game we played. Throughout class, I will have trivia and a discussion topic they can chat about. At the end of class, I will do a GIVEAWAY of $10 code off any class of mine can be applied to the camp. I will have everyone's name in a basket and draw one out to win.

Build Topic: Based on Game

Scavenger Hunt: Around the House - Your student will have a scavenger hunt around the house. They will then have to create a build based on their hunt. I will provide guidance in a document in the classroom.

Class 2 Topic - MYSTERY TOPIC

In class: We will begin with showing our builds from the previous night and their scavenger hunt. Then we will dive into the new topic and build for the week. I will also be showing them a tutorial on building something they will use in their "at home" build.

Build Topic: This will be revealed in class (Clue: It is based on something that moves)

At the end of class, students get to choose 1 thing (build or set) from home they get to show everyone in camp, along with their build from the day.

Scavenger Hunt: Around Town - Your student will have a scavenger hunt around town to do with the family. They will then have to create a build based on their hunt and the information I put together for them. I will provide guidance in a document in the classroom.

Class 3 Topic - Spin the Wheel Mesh-Up

In class: We will begin with showing our builds from the previous night and scavenger hunt. THIS TIME, students will get two votes each in the chat (anonymously) for their favorite build from the scavenger hunt. The winner will win $10 code off any class of mine in Outschool, and can be applied to the camp.

Build Topic: I will spin the wheel of options and land of TWO choices. Students much MESH UP those two topics in a build.

The goal of this class is to get the students interacting with each other, building, and growing their creativity through a fun Summer Camp. Other than STEM, there is not an educational portion to this class. I am not teaching them anything in this class, but your student will learn problem solving, on the spot creative thinking, and so much more. This is a fun and hands-on camp that the students can truly feel like a master builder. All they need is a creative mind, a love for building, and a good collection of materials. Come join the fun!
