Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
This class is for learners who love the Construction site, Trucks, Tools and Machines. In this interactice and hands-on class we will explore letters and letter sounds by exploring the words that we love about the Construction Site, our favorite tools and, of course, Trucks. Let's explore those words and letter sounds together!

⭐ Every week we will learn 1 - 2 letters.

⭐ We will explore trucks and tools beginning with the letters of the week.

⭐ We will explore and learn the correct formation of our letters through hands on and fun activities. We do this using our cars and trucks as we drive the letters. And we use our building and coloring skills to make the letters.

⭐ Some of our favorite words are Crane, Drill, Excavator, Flatbed Truck, Road Roller, Semi Truck.

👷 Lets talk with our friends about our favorite trucks! Every class will start with a 'Show and Tell' with our friends!
We will then learn about the letter(s) of the week, and the Words, Tools and Trucks with that letter.

This is an interactive and engaging class where learners will share, do hands-on activities and enjoy a fun game with their friends.

Throughout class I will support learners as they share their thoughts about the vehicles and practice their letter sounds throughout the lesson. Students will be encouraged and supported as they participate in class. If you feel that your child may be shy or anxious about participating in class please feel free to contact me in advance and let me know.

This is an ongoing class and students are welcome to join and leave the class at any time. Learners are welcome to join for one lesson or many,

Master's Degree in Education from Open University
Hello! My name is Roisin. Welcome to my classroom!

I have a both a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Education. For more than 20 years I have been a teacher and an educator. I have been a classroom teacher, a curriculum designer, a teacher trainer and an online English teacher. I have experience teaching students from PreSchool through to 9th grade, both in a regular classroom and also in a virtual classroom. For me as an educator, it has been rewarding at every level to nurture and foster early skills and equip young learners with the tools they need to inquire and question about the world around them. I love to see how these skills grow and develop, and support learners as they progress throughout the grades.

I believe that children learn when they are actively engaged in their learning, sharing their ideas and collaborating with their peers. Learning is inspired by lessons that are meaningful and relevant to students. The lessons spark their interest, nurture and develop an understanding of a 'big idea' and build essential skills. And of course fun and enjoyment in the classroom are essential ingredients too. When students are happy and engaged, those meaningful conversations and interactions happen naturally in the classroom.

Over the past few years I have learned to surf (badly). I am by no means a good surfer (in fact I'm pretty poor), but there is nothing more rewarding than finally standing upright on that board! Its good to feel the challenge of slowly mastering the various steps, before finally mastering the 'pop-up'. And nothing more humbling than seeing the little kids whizz past you as you struggle to master those skills during the process!
