This 9-week FLEX course is for those who want the benefit of my LIVE class, Learn to Read: Blending, Reading, & Writing CVC Words in Word Families, but cannot commit to a LIVE class each week. Because it is a FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE course, we can take our time going through each component of the lesson, affording your learner more time for practice and processing-which is a huge pro of learning to read through flexible schedule courses. Each Monday I will upload the engaging video lessons along with game sheets, stories, worksheets, and challenges for the week. The challenges that I give your learner at the end of each video (as well as put in the classroom for your convenience) will keep us interacting throughout the course. I have broken each weekly video lesson into four shorter videos for your convenience. This allows you to easily replay a certain portion of the lesson that your learner needs more practice on or simply wants to do again. You and your learner can choose whether they complete the lesson all at once or break it into smaller lessons over the course of the week. I will also include an easy-to-follow syllabus with all of the materials and links embedded. In addition, I've created fun and colorful double-sided flashcards for all nine word families that you will receive upon enrollment! It's your lesson on your timetable in a user-friendly format that eliminates any guesswork for you! Each week, we will review a handful of letters and sounds (our beginning sounds for our CVC words), learn a "special sound" (our word family blend), play listening, rhyming, and blending games, complete our weekly worksheet, and have fun with weekly challenges. Our word family schedule is as follows: Week 1: at Week 2: op Week 3: ap Week 4: un Week 5: et Week 6: og Week 7: am Week 8: ig Week 9: ed *I have written and/or created and own the copyrights to all materials including printables, game sheets, stories, and slide shows used in all of my classes.
Learning Goals
Students will learn or review their knowledge of letter names and sounds, write letters and blends, strengthen rhyming and blending skills, and read words in word families.
