This class is for kids who like to use a variety of materials to create, explore and express their ideas. In this class, we share ideas, get new inspiration and spend time working on our creative projects. It is a great place to connect with other creative kids! To stretch our thinking about the projects we create, every week I share images or video clips from artists, nature or craftspeople that connect with the monthly topic (see list below). The main focus of this class is unleashing creativity, sharing ideas and exploring different ways to express our ideas.
I have been an educator for 20 years and am inspired by the Reggio approach. There is so much learning that is naturally connected to children’s open-ended use of materials. I see all children as capable individuals who are motivated to learn when their interests are honored and they are encouraged to make their own discoveries.
Bring your imagination, recycled materials or any art/craft supplies that you want to work with during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
