Learn to Code With Games & Animations! (Tues, Thurs, Sat)

Learn to Code with Games & Animations is a class where learners will get an introductory experience with coding and computer science in a fun  block-based visual programming environment. Students will code games using a block-based visual programming environment and play with animations. 

This class will feature new themes every week including: Dance Party with music and animations, Minecraft, Star Wars, Flappy Bird, and many other themes. Students will learn and apply key computer programming concepts, including event-driven programming, sequence, loops, parallelism, and conditionals. 

Students will create an online coding project, which they can continue to work on, make changes and improve. I apply an activity and/or project based teaching style because I think completing assignments and projects is the most fun way to learn. It also gives students a sense of accomplishment. 

The activity method is an ideal teaching style for STEM subjects. I provide guidance to learners, encouraging independent thought and self-learning through hands-on computer science games, video clips, fun activities, and discussions. I find this teaching style is ideal for learning STEM subjects.
