Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Embark on an exciting journey into computer science with personalized 1:1 tutoring in Scratch or MakeCode, tailored to your interests and skill level! Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced coder looking to tackle advanced projects, this class is designed to meet your needs with a fun and supportive teaching approach.

Learn the fundamentals of block-based programming while exploring key computer science concepts like sequencing, loops, conditionals, variables, and event handling. Along the way, you’ll develop critical problem-solving skills and apply them to create games, animations, or interactive projects.

For beginners:
An introduction to Scratch or MakeCode, understanding the interface, creating simple animations, and building basic games.

For advancing learners: Working with variables, cloning, complex logic, custom blocks, and multi-level games.

Optional challenges: Explore exciting coding ideas like building games, an interactive story, or a musical instrument simulator.

This is a learner-centered class, meaning you set the pace and choose the focus of each session. After discussing your interests and goals, you’ll get personalized guidance, collaborate with you on hands-on projects, and offer optional challenges to inspire creativity.

This class combines live coding demonstrations with interactive activities, such as coding games, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving challenges. We’ll use tools like screen sharing so you can share your programs and receive live guidance and tutorials as we work through your projects

Interaction is the heart of each session. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, brainstorm ideas, share your screen to showcase your work, and get live, real-time feedback and direction as you build your projects.
