Learn to program droids, and create your own Star Wars game in a galaxy far, far away. We will be using block-based coding in our adventures in the galaxy. In this lesson, learners get an introductory experience with coding and computer science in a safe, supportive environment. Learners will have the opportunity to work on his/her own page and have any questions answered by the instructor. Learners will get a chance to explore on his/her own. The beauty of coding is that one can never really fail. One simply finds ways that don't work, until a way that work is found. There are always multiple different ways to complete any task.
Learning Goals
Students will learn coding and programming (using blocks), as well as simple debugging techniques.

I am a New York State certified teacher and have been teaching for over 16 years. Over the years I have taught 7 and 8th-grade science, High School Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, and Algebra. I have degrees from Boston College and Fordham University and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree from Stony Brook University.
You will find classes and tutoring from me on coding, math, and science, including ACT and SAT Prep. I also like to share my passions, so you may also see some quilting and crafting classes.
I believe that all students can learn, it's just a matter of finding a way to connect to them. In my spare time, I love crafting, quilting, and knitting.
