Each week, students will turn in samples of their work through the classroom as part of their interactions with not only the teacher but with their classmates!Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
As students work through this course, they will be introduced to several different styles of note-taking. Each unique style has advantages and disadvantages can be used for so many different things. Each week, a new style will be introduced. Students will be provided several sources of materials including articles, graphic organizers, sample notes (exemplars), clearly presented PowerPoint presentations and notes, and more! It is important to note that while all note styles are unique and can be used in different situations, students might experiment or learn a note-taking style that they do not necessarily like. And that is okay! This course is designed for students to learn different styles, their advantages and disadvantages, and the style(s) that work for them! While students work, the teacher will provide exemplars and will work through the examples through video presentation in the classroom. Students will then have the opportunity to present their knowledge in the way of their choosing and they will always be able to the topics of their own interest!

- Explain the Advantages and Disadvantages of Each Style
- Choose the Styles that They Like and Find Effective for Their Own Style
- Identify Cornell Notes, The Outline Method, Mapping, and Annotations
- Develop Corresponding Questions to the Notes
- Identify the Objective of Information
- Share Questions and Respond to Them
- Locate an Article on a Topic of Interest
- Demonstrate Different Arguments
- Annotate an Article
- Explain the Symbols You Choose
- Identify the Important Information Presented in MaterialsOther Details
Supply List
Each week, students will be submitting their work through the classroom. This can be done through scanning of hand-written work or through digital copies. I am a firm believer in choice in the classroom and always want to leave this open for students!
