Description
Class Experience
This course lasts seven weeks, meeting once a week for 45 minutes. Each session, students will learn watercolor techniques, practice those techniques, then employ those in a project. Instruction will be given step-by-step. No prior knowledge is required for this course. *Students will learn about the unique qualities of watercolor. *Students will learn various techniques to use with watercolor. *Students will learn basic color theory to use with watercolor. *Students will create seven different watercolor paintings.
Students may need to finish a project outside of class time. We will share the previous week's project at the beginning of each class so we can see any progress made outside of class.
Materials: *Watercolor Paper Pad - I will use 9"x12" - My favorite is Canson, but there are many options! **I like to use COLD PRESS paper (more textured), but HOT PRESS (smoother) is fine too! *Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener *Ruler *Washi Tape - variety of widths - super skinny, thin, medium, regular (Check the planner section of the art store) *Variety of Watercolor Brushes - different shapes and sizes. Students will self-assess their work verbally with the teacher. We will focus on constructive criticism, how to self-assess, and being resilient in art-making.
