Introduction to Poetry (6 Week Course)
In this 6 week course, students will learn literary elements found in poetry, explore traditional poetry forms (i.e. couplets, haiku, limericks, and free verse) and edit/workshop original work.

Class Experience
Each class will begin with a creative writing exercise. We will then move into an interactive lesson using a combination of slides, class discussion, and exercises. Students will have ample opportunity to ask questions, interact with each other, and share their original work. Below is an overview of the course flow. Students will have a weekly writing assignment that puts to use what was learned in class each week.
Each week, students will have the option to receive feedback on their homework assignments.
