45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-session 45-minute class, students will be introduced to video editing using the free Apple Clips app. This class is geared towards students who have never used Clips before or who would like to improve their skills and learn new tricks. Students will learn about the different features in the app while following the teacher to develop a short video. This app is easy to learn and students will enjoy being able to create videos with cool effects. (Please note that I have not listed this class recently, but if you are interested, please message me.) In this class, students will learn how to: 1) Begin a new video project. 2) Add and edit a poster for a title page. 3) Record a video clip. 4) Add filters to clips and photos. 5) Design video clips with words, stickers, and emojis. 6) Add music to their video. 7) Save and share their video project. Students will share their finished videos with the class (if time) and will reflect on what they learned, their strengths, and what they would like to learn or improve in their next video. Please note that this class will be demonstrated on an iPad. If the student is using an iPhone the interface will look slightly different. For this class, your student will need: *An iPad or iPhone and the most recent free Apple Clips app downloaded in advance: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clips/id1212699939#?platform=ipad *Note: please download the app 24 hours in advance to avoid difficulties on the day of the class. *A separate computer or screen (not the iPad they are using for their video) to watch the lesson. *An internet connection while working to download the free posters, stickers, and music that are included in the app. I have used Apple Clips to create videos for many years and use it frequently to make informative and fun videos for lessons and for myself. I have also worked with many students teaching them how to use this powerful, creative, and fun video editing app. I would love to share what I have learned with new students so they can produce their own movies.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to edit a video with titles, filters, stickers, emojis, and music using the Apple Clips app. By the end of the class, students will have created their own amazing edited video!
