45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-session 45-minute class, students will continue to explore the advanced drawing and editing tools in the free Tayasui Sketches School app. This class is geared towards elementary students who love to draw and would like to use their creativity to draw amazing pictures on their iPad! Students who want to use their Apple Pencil will love this class, however, using a stylus or a finger will work as well! NOTE: Before taking this class, students should have completed my iPad Digital Drawing for Beginners 1 and 2 classes (or have experience using the Tayasui Sketches School app). In this class, students will explore drawing several vehicles using the following digital drawing skills: 1. Creating backgrounds with colors, fill, and texture. 2. Constructing with straight lines and shapes to design basic vehicle bases. 3. Using circles, lines, and emojis to design wheels. Use duplicate to make multiple wheels that are exactly the same. 4. Combining additional drawing and digital tools to add details, text, and fun emojis to the scene! 5. Vehicle drawings that MIGHT be covered during the class include a sideways truck, a front-facing car, and a rocket. We may not have time to do them all. (I may add more vehicle options, too, as I have time to develop them!) 6. At the end of the class, students will be given a vehicle challenge to design on their own using what they learned. Note: the challenge may need to be completed after class time is done. For this class, your student will need: *An iPad and the most recent free Tayasui Sketches School app downloaded by a parent onto their iPad in advance: (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tayasui-sketches-school/id1354087061 ) ***A separate computer or screen (not the iPad they are using for drawing) to watch the lesson. *It is helpful if students have a stylus or an Apple Pencil to make the drawing process easier, but this lesson can also be done by drawing with a finger. Please note that the Tayasui Sketches School app is perfect for elementary students/beginners and is much simpler than using the Procreate app to draw. If your student is already using Procreate successfully to make drawings, then this class probably is too easy for them. I personally love to draw on my iPad and have many years of experience teaching young learners how to draw digitally. I would love to share with your student the many creative tricks and tips that I have learned.
Learning Goals
At the end of this fun and creative session, students should have created several detailed digital iPad drawings and will have the knowledge to continue using the drawing tricks we learned in the Sketches School app to draw their own masterpieces!
