NOTE: I am happy to schedule this class at a time that is convenient for your student. Please contact me and we can try to coordinate a time that will work for both of us!
ALSO NOTE: I have different classes for GarageBand on the iPad/iPhone/iPod. The GarageBand interface is totally different on an iPad.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone! My name is Karen Bosch, and I am looking forward to being your iPad/technology teacher at Outschool!

After over 40 years of teaching (both as an elementary classroom teacher and as a technology teacher), I am now excited to be able to teach some of the amazing, creative things that can be done with iPads and other technology tools to my students on Outschool! I believe that students need opportunities to use technology that goes beyond looking at websites, watching videos, or playing games. I hope that through our classes, students will discover new ways to use their iPads and other technology tools that are enjoyable, spark their imagination, deepen their skills, and help them express their learning in creative ways.

I personally love to use my iPad to draw, make music, edit photography, create animations and videos, and much more! I have many years of experience developing engaging iPad/technology lessons for PreK - 8 students that I am now sharing with Outschool learners. I have researched dozens of iPad apps and selected only the best for our learning activities. My experience in training teachers (both online and in-person) and teaching students during our months of remote learning has helped me to develop a comfortable and interactive style to present these lessons online. My background includes being honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator, PBS Digital Learning Innovator, Dremel 3D Printing Ambassador, and Michigan Technology Using Teacher of the Year.

When I am not creating new projects on my iPad, I enjoy hanging out with my two cats, working in my garden, baking, making jewelry, and traveling.

I would love to inspire and guide your student through the steps to create amazing digital projects while teaching them many helpful iPad tricks and tips that I have learned over the years. My hope is that students will not only have fun learning new iPad skills but will also be proud of the digital masterpieces they have learned to create!
