This class will be a hands-on step-by-step guide to making sushi! We will start class with a discussion about different types/forms of sushi than we will begin making our own sushi. Learners will be asked questions and allowed to discuss with each other throughout the class. Teacher will explain each step; cooking the rice, turning the plain rice into sushi rice, laying out the seaweed and rice, and rolling to make a sushi roll. Learners are welcome to make whichever form of sushi they are comfortable with!

Parental Guidance
Knives will be used the cut the rolls and vegetables.
Rice can be pre-made; a rice cooker or stove top will be needed to cook rice if it's not pre-made.
Soy sauce may be used to add additional flavor but is not required.
Supply List
Japanese short grain Rice, rice vinegar, salt, sugar, soy sauce (optional), sushi mat roller or thick hand towel to roll sushi, small bowl, water, spoon for fresh rice, spoon to mix sushi rice, and vegetables/fish/fruit to add to rice.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
