November 4th, 2022, was the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tut's tomb - called the most remarkable archaeological find of the last century. Take this opportunity to ask King Tutankhamun what Egyptologists have been speculating about for over 100 years since revealing his resting place.

Class experience

US Grade 9 - 12
π“‚€ How does archaeological excavation work? What is the relationship between sponsor and archaeologist?
π“‚€ How to study myths, such as The Curse of King Tut, and try to evaluate them, using facts.
π“‚€ The methods that Egyptologists and archaeologists use in modern times to examine mummy diseases, age at death and other conditions of a person living thousands of years ago.
π“‚€ How to discuss ethical issues and agree to disagree with others, such as the right of modern scientists to excavate tombs that were considered sacred and never to be seen again by mortal eyes.
I hold a Certificate of Museum Studies from Harvard University and a Diploma in Egyptology from Oxford College in England. And I’ve been to Egypt three times on personalized, educational tours. I am also a certified substitute teacher in the New Mexico and New Hampshire public school systems.

I've been captivated by ancient Egypt since I was 10 years old. And I feel it's my destiny to share my enthusiasm for and expertise on this beautiful and brilliant 5000-year-old civilization with all of you. I hope to see you soon in this class. I think you'll agree that The Egyptian Room is an attractive, fun and inspiring place to learn. And, please, if you like, call me Ms. Sennuwy - my chosen ancient Egyptian name.
Homework Offered
The only homework will occur before the class - requesting students to read the facts about King Tut's life, look over the interview questions and add their own. πŸ’₯ For more scheduled classes, please scroll up for β€œShow Alternative Times.” π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€ π“‚€
Assessments Offered
Since this is an informal question-and-answer class, we will go over the main facts that we do know about King Tut when we finish.
Grades Offered
Β 1 file available upon enrollment
The only thing students need to bring to class is their imagination; I will supply everything else.
Students will hear about King Tut's marriage to his half-sister. We may discuss how royal marriages, such as these, may have contributed to genetic deformities in their offspring.
Students will see artistic images of King Tut and his wife, photos of his tomb and mummy, and photos of the scientists who found him. There will be facts on both sides of the controversy surrounding Tut's death and tomb curse. Most information will be used from accredited historical websites and from some original research on King Tut. Please see the list of materials and resources below. I do not have any students below the age of 13 in my classes.
