In this one-time class, I will cover the 5 basic rules for using commas in sentences. I will also cover how to identify independent and dependent clauses, and how to use commas around and within each of these clause types. I have over 7 years of experience teaching grammar as an SAT & ACT test prep instructor, and can't wait to share the quick and easy strategies I have developed for teaching these concepts with your learner! By the end of class, your student will be able to recall the 5 basic rules for comma usage and write several example sentences wherein they will apply the comma rules correctly in their own writing.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to use a comma properly in their own writing and when editing the writing of another person.
