Shortly after finalizing the curriculum for my Story & Symbol class on the red balloon, I met author Katherine Locke, had the chance to sit and speak with her, and heard her read an excerpt from this incredible novel. Many of the themes in the story relate to my own life, and I know that many learners will relate, too.
Students will need to acquire a copy of The Girl with the Red Balloon. It is $.99 on Kindle, $9.99 as a new paperback, or cheaper as a used copy. Ask your local library if they have a copy your learner can reserve and use for a month (the duration of the course). Students do not need to have the book ahead of the first class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
