Halloween Yoga Party
Grab your Halloween costume for this not-too-spooky Halloween yoga class. This class is a live, one-time small group class for young learners ages 4-8.
This class will start with ghost pranayamas and the meditation mantra “peace begins with me” using finger movements to help focus our minds. We will warm up our bodies with Halloween-themed Sun Salutations. We will bob for apples (pom poms) with our toes. Each learner will have a chance to share their Halloween costume if they want. The class will end with a guided Halloween meditation. How I Teach I believe kids learn best when they are engaged, moving, and having fun! I use music and...
-Enhance the mind-body connection through breathwork, meditation, and movement. -Learn breathing and meditation techniques for managing stress -Help cardiovascular health through body movement
I've been teaching yoga for over eleven years and have been practicing yoga for 23 years. I hold a 200 Hour Vinyasa certification and I am a Kidding Around Yoga Teacher. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and have taken numerous continuous education credits in children's yoga.
-Learners can wear their Halloween costumes to class as long as they can move safely in them. -Learners will need pom poms or cotton balls. We will be picking them up with our toes to "bob for apples." Small crumpled pieces of paper will work here too.
Yoga is a physical exercise. As with all exercise, there is a possible risk of injury. Learners should listen to their bodies and if they feel discomfort or pain discontinue the activity. Learners are encouraged to take breaks as needed. Learners will need a clear, flat space free of furniture and toys to move safely. Learners should be barefoot or in yoga socks (the kind with grips on the bottom.) Learners should hydrate before and after class. Water in class is optional.
