Class Experience

Grammar doesn't have to be boring, and it doesn't need to take a long time! In this class, learners will develop proficiency and confidence in their writing through grammar mastery.

This self-paced (asynchronous) class does not have live video meetings. Instead, I will provide each learner with video lessons to watch, reference sheets, and assignments to practice the skills from each lesson.

Each lesson will include a video lesson. Learners are encouraged to watch it multiple times if needed. Different types of activities will be provided to allow plenty of practice to help ensure the student masters the material. At any point, if the student does not feel confident with the material, they are encouraged to reach out. I am happy to provide additional support as needed.

The material from the first half of the course will be parts of speech. As we continue into the second half of the course, students will be using the information they learned to create different types of sentences that they can use to build paragraphs.

Students will receive feedback from me for assignments they turn in. If formal assessments or letter grades are desired, please let me know at the beginning of class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm excited to offer various classes in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Fitness and Exercise Education, and Dog Training from sunny, beautiful KEY WEST!

I worked as an ESL teacher for three years and, I hold a TESOL Certificate! I will be offering a variety of English grammar and composition courses perfect for all students, including ESL students!

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Behavioral Analysis, graduating magna cum laude. Since my graduation in 2006, I have worked to remain up-to-date and informed on the ever-changing field of Criminal Justice. I create and offer homeschool Forensic Science courses in our community because I'm passionate about the field. I am passionate about teaching students about the vastly different ways to be involved in our criminal justice system and helping dispel the many myths created by the very entertaining crime dramas!

I hold an active nationally accredited personal training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I look forward to educating and helping students learn more about exercise science and consider Personal Training as a career path that they may want to follow!

I strive to give your child a classroom environment that fosters learning and discussion. My classes will include hands-on learning or interaction whenever possible because I believe this is the best way to create a passion for learning! I will guide students in meaningful discussions about what they are learning and how the field can be improved. I love helping students ENJOY learning. I strive to make learning typically "boring" subjects like grammar exciting and fun! We all learn best when we are having fun!

I homeschool my own children, currently 16 and 13 years old. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the spark to learn fostered with my own children and the children I have in my classes. In my free time, I love training my 2.5 year old Great Dane puppy and 4-year-old German Shepherd! We have taught the pups tricks like puppy push-ups, spinning, rolling-over, and many more! I love sharing about my dogs in class, and I typically have pictures or videos to share with my students! In the fall, you will find me cheering on my favorite college football team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!
