Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
In this course, we will explore a variety of careers within the field of forensic science. It’s important for students to understand the educational pathways, income potential, and real-world expectations associated with each career they may be considering. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to tailor their middle and high school courses to align with their career goals. They will gain insight into the relevant degree programs and the qualifications needed for employment in forensic fields. Additionally, students will discover how professionals from non-science backgrounds contribute to solving crimes. For the final project, students will choose a career that interests them, outline their preparation plan, and highlight their strengths that make this career a good fit. Students will have the option to present their project through written paragraphs, a Google Slides presentation, or a video, which they will share with the me for feedback.

Each week, students will watch a video lesson paired with worksheets designed to reinforce key concepts. Additionally, they will participate in at least one hands-on or lab activity, such as dusting for fingerprints, to actively engage with the material and deepen their understanding. Throughout the course, I will prompt students with questions to assess their interest and comprehension of the topics and activities. I will encourage them to think critically about what they are learning and explore how the material relates to potential careers they may be considering in the field of Forensic Science and Criminal Justice!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Christina, and I'm excited to offer various classes in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Fitness and Exercise Education, and Dog Training! Keep a look out for new classes to get posted!

I have worked as an ESL Teacher for 6 years, and I hold a TESOL Certificate! I will be offering a variety of English grammar and composition courses perfect for all students, including ESL students!

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Behavioral Analysis, graduating magna cum laude. Since my graduation in 2006, I have worked to remain up-to-date and informed on the ever-changing field of Criminal Justice. I create and offer homeschool Forensic Science courses in our community because I'm passionate about the field. I am passionate about teaching students about the vastly different ways to be involved in our criminal justice system and helping dispel the many myths created by the very entertaining crime dramas!

I hold an active nationally accredited personal training certification through NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine, and I look forward to educating and helping students learn more about exercise science and consider Personal Training as a career path that they may want to follow!

I strive to give your child a classroom environment that fosters learning and discussion. My classes will include hands-on learning or interaction whenever possible because I believe this is the best way to create a passion for learning! I will guide students in meaningful discussions about what they are learning and how the field can be improved. I love helping students ENJOY learning. I strive to make learning typically "boring" subjects like grammar exciting and fun! We all learn best when we are having fun!

I homeschool my own children, currently 16 and 13 years old. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the spark to learn fostered with my own children and the children I have in my classes. In my free time, I love training my 3 -year old Great Dane puppy and 4-year-old German Shepherd! We have taught the pups tricks like puppy push-ups, spinning, rolling-over, and many more! I love sharing about my dogs in class, and I typically have pictures or videos to share with my students! In the fall, you will find me cheering on my favorite college football team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs!
