As the author of "Essential Study Skills: A Holistic Approach to Learning" (2022) and "Best Foot Forward: A Student Success Guide with Life Skills Strategies for the Road Ahead" (2016), LeCara's expertise extends beyond the classroom. With a background as a master-certified life coach and corporate training manager, Mr. L bridges the gap between academia and the real world, empowering students with practical skills. 




Homework Offered
Home Activities: • Engage in conversations with family members or friends, practicing active listening and expressing thoughts clearly. • Keep a communication journal, noting instances where effective communication was utilized or could have been improved. • Engage in a collaborative activity, keeping track of the challenges faced and strategies used for effective teamwork. • Reflect on personal strengths and how they can contribute to a team environment. • Create a personal time management plan, including goal setting and prioritization for upcoming tasks or activities. • Practice utilizing time management techniques in daily routines, keeping track of progress and adjustments made.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learning Progress will be assessed according to: • Learner self-reflections on progress and growth in each soft skill area to identify strengths and areas for improvement. • Participation and engagement in class discussions and activities. • Role-plays and simulations where learners can explore soft skills in realistic situations. • Knowledge checks to assess learners' understanding of soft skills concepts, theories, and best practices.
Grades Offered
No course materials are needed. Mr. LeCara will be posting wrap-ups with materials you can use and refer to in class and in the future.
