** SPECIAL SCHEDULE FOR DECEMBER 2023 HOLIDAY BREAK ** In this course, teens will gain essential skills to thrive in the real world, from setting goals and managing time to making decisions and solving problems. They will also develop strong communication skills, increase their emotional intelligence and self-awareness, and gain knowledge in financial literacy and career planning. Through engaging and interactive activities and discussions, teens will learn practical life hacks that they can use to navigate their way through adolescence and beyond. Session 1: Goal-Setting and Time Management • Introduction to goal-setting and its importance • How to set SMART goals • Time management techniques to help achieve goals • Practical exercises for students to set their own goals and create a schedule Session 2: Communication Skills • The importance of effective communication • Verbal and non-verbal communication skills • Active listening skills • Role-playing exercises to practice communication skills Session 3: Decision-Making and Problem-Solving • Understanding the decision-making process • Identifying potential obstacles and brainstorming solutions • Steps for effective problem-solving • Practical exercises to apply decision-making and problem-solving skills Session 4: Emotional Intelligence and Self-Awareness • Understanding emotions and how they impact behavior • Developing self-awareness and self-regulation • Coping strategies for managing emotions • Exercises to practice emotional intelligence and self-awareness Session 5: Financial Literacy • Understanding the value of money • Budgeting and managing finances • Saving and investing • Practical exercises for managing finances Session 6: Career Planning and Networking • Identifying career interests and strengths • Exploring career paths and options • Developing a career plan and goals • Networking and job search strategies • Practical exercises to develop a career plan and practice networking skills
