Class Experience
I have created this section for teens who want the flexibility of working on specific skills within the PEERS® curriculum. You can choose to learn all of the material listed below or pick which ones are the most important to you and go from there. PEERS® for Adolescents is a 14-week evidence-based social skills intervention for teens in middle and high school who are interested in learning new ways of making and keeping friends. PEERS® may be appropriate for teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, or other social and behavioral disorders. Each week students are introduced to a new concept via PowerPoint slides, videos, and dialogue. Let me know which skills you would like to work on first in the curriculum. Please reach out to let me know which ones you'd like to cover after you have enrolled in the class. Topics that are covered with teens: • Use appropriate conversational skills • Use humor appropriately • Use electronic communication • Enter & exit conversations • Be a good host during get-togethers • Be a good sport • Handle arguments and disagreements • Change a bad reputation • Handle rumors and gossip • Handle rejection, teasing, and bullying Please note: This class is not therapeutic in nature but does present social skill concepts and encourages students to practice them in everyday situations.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to make and keep friends by building their social skills.

Students will not need to discuss how they practiced the skill during that week or give any previous examples of bullying.
