1 hour per week. Sometimes the student will not fully complete the coloring and details of the drawing we are working on, during the 30 minute class. They are welcome to continue working on it, on their own time. The students are encouraged to continue practicing the skills they learned during class, as much as they enjoy doing so.Assessment
informal assessmentClass Experience
This is a single meeting, one time class that you can take as many times as you like. We will work on different projects at each class. There is no particular order that you need to take the classes in. I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes. I will teach drawings with a step by step method, so that the student can easily follow along. They can add details, shade and color their work, with their own choices. Each student will get some individual help with their drawing, as we go along. I will continue to check in with them, as we work on the drawing, so that no one falls behind. The students will work on listening skills and following directions. They will also practice observational skills. This class is designed to build confidence and self esteem, as well as foster creativity. My teaching style is reaxed and fun, with a focus on the individual learner. The class atmosphere will be low stress. Each student can work at their own level. I will use a second device to show my hands drawing on the paper, so that the students can see what I am drawing, and follow along. The students can hold up their work, as they go along, to get feedback or help.
Learning Goals
1. The student will learn some basic art and drawing skills.
2. The student will feel more confident about learning to draw, or improving their art skills.
3. They will discover how art can be relaxing and stress-reducing.
4. The student will explore their ability to improvise and make creative choices, while creating an art project
5. They will fine tune the art and drawing skills that they already have.
6. The class will bring out the student's natural creative skills.
7. The student will feel more confident and build their enjoyment of creating art.
8. They will practice listening skills and observation skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Towson University
I have been an Outschool teacher since May of 2020. I love teaching on Outschool and sharing my love of art and music with the students.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher. I have taught for a over a year on outschool as a piano and guitar teacher. My teaching experience includes art, piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and general music classes, in both the classroom and private settings. I homeschooled my two children and enjoyed many fun hours of creating art and drawing with them. Both of them are now part time artists, as adults.
My brick and mortar school teaching includes being head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland.
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education.
