I have been an Outschool teacher since May 2020.
I have 20+ years experience, as a music teacher and professional musician. I have taught piano, electric keyboard, guitar, and ukelele, in both the classroom and private settings.
I was head of the music department at a private high school in Maryland.
I taught private piano and guitar lessons at a guitar shop, for 5 years, in addition to my own private students in my studio.
I have a bachelor's degree in music education, from Towson University, plus graduate studies in music education.
Homework Offered
I recommend 20- 40 minutes of practice , about 3 to 5 times per week, if possible.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessment. Ongoing communication with student . Parents can feel free to message me any time about student's progress.
Grades Offered
Guitar
Amplifier if needed for an electric guitar
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I will send you a link for the GuitarTuna online guitar tuner. This is the tuner that I recommend. It is also available as a free app for your phone. There is no account needed for this tuner.
I will sometimes play a song for the student, using youtube on the zoom screen share. This will be to let them hear how the song goes, so they can more easily learn the song.
