Hi, and welcome to my Figure Drawing Art Styles class! Throughout this course, we'll explore drawing the human figure in various styles, including anime, comic books, video games, and realism. You'll learn fundamental art principles while deconstructing and analyzing different artistic styles.

— LEARNING OBJECTIVES —

🎨 ANIME STYLE: When drawing in the anime style, we'll focus on human anatomy, including hands, feet, foreshortening, and complex poses. Students will develop skills in drawing faces, hair, and clothing.

🦸‍♂️ COMIC STYLE: In comic book classes, we'll emphasize muscles, dynamic poses, costumes, armor, and props.

🎮 VIDEO GAME STYLE: In video game classes, creativity knows no bounds. We'll explore diverse shapes, designs, weapons, armor, perspective, and magical effects.

🤪 CARTOON STYLE: Cartoon classes are more than meets the eye. You'll master gesture, facial expression, and line weight, discovering the artistry in simple lines.

🖌️ LIVE ACTION MOVIE STYLE: Finally, we'll touch on realism and shading. Shading is crucial in drawing, and I'll teach you a simple, analytical approach applicable to anime, video game, and comic book characters.

— CLASS FORMAT —

Each week, we'll produce two 20-minute sketches, emphasizing anatomy, posing, and clothing. Select classes will feature special lessons on shading, drawing muscles, or facial details to deepen skills. While coloring and inking are welcome, students are encouraged to do so after class to allow more time for instruction. Additionally, we'll rotate themes weekly, with input from both the instructor and students.

Join our vibrant community of anime, video game, and movie enthusiasts! We're passionate about pop culture and can't wait to have you in class!
