Class Experience

This class is perfect for young learners who have an understanding of creating equal parts but may or my not have foundational fraction knowledge. During the 30 minute course learners will be introduced to fraction foundations such as dividing a circle in equal parts and naming fractions with denominators of 2, 4, 6, 8.

Students will use their foundational fraction knowledge to create a fraction picture led by the instructor. By the end of class, learners will have created a beautiful bird scene created with fractions of circles. Check out my other classes for other editions of fraction art such as butterflies and fish. I am always developing new fraction art classes.

Note: Learners will be required to fold and cut during class. If your child has difficulty manipulating scissors, I would recommend an adult sit nearby (off screen) to assist.

Learning Goals

Students will learn to name fractions with denominators of 2, 4, 6, and 8. Students will learn how to divide a circle into fractions.
