This quiz will be used to help solidify the student's knowledge and push them to think more deeply about the role that religion plays in people's lives when examining the different religions. Students will be expected to compare and contrast the different religions to demonstrate their understanding of each religion. This quiz will take place during Week 6's class time. If students need accommodations or exemptions, please message me to arrange those.Progress Report

Students who do not complete the quiz, but participate throughout the course will just receive written feedback about their participation if requested. Students who do not complete the quiz and do not engage throughout the course through participation will not be given any feedback.Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 10
Welcome to an 'Introduction to World Religions'. In this six-week course, students will learn about five major world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. We will examine each religion in a respectful way as this class is intended to be a learning experience to help students understand the different belief systems that are popular throughout the world. It is hoped that with this course that students will be able to identify the uniqueness of each religion and how it impacts how many live their lives. In each of the classes, we will look at the history and origins behind each religion, the religious beliefs and practices their followers participate in, and celebrations or holidays unique to that religion. Students will be provided handouts that are to help guide them through each lesson if they wish to take notes. Each class will be guided with a slideshow presentation with images, videos, and discussion questions to help guide students' learning. This class is intended to be educational, and students of all knowledge levels are welcome to join, whether they know a lot or a little about the different religions. Students are encouraged to engage in each class to further their knowledge and understanding of the different religions. During the sixth class, students will have the opportunity to complete a quiz. This quiz will consist of multiple-choice questions and short answer questions. These questions will be used for students to compare and contrast the different religions and demonstrate the knowledge they have learned throughout the course. See below under 'assessment' for more information. Class Schedule: Week 1: Hinduism Week 2: Buddhism Week 3: Judaism Week 4: Islam Week 5: Christianity Week 6: Review and Quiz

I am a certified teacher at the intermediate and senior level with specific qualifications in history and geography. My goal for this class is to teach students from an unbiased approach the different belief systems. My personal bias will not be a part of this class as I believe that teaching students about different religions through an unbiased lens can help them be respectful to others with different beliefs than their own. I will use a wide range of documents to support the information taught in this class to provide a thorough glance at the different religions.
