What will be taught: Students learn improper fractions is equal to or greater than one. Students learn mixed numbers is the sum of a whole number and a fraction. Students learn proper fractions has a value less than one. Students learn how to rename improper fraction as a mixed number. Students learn how to rename a mixed number as an improper fraction. Students will practice how to write mixed numbers and an improper fraction. Students will practice renaming improper fractions as a whole number or a mixed number. Students will practice renaming mixed numbers as an improper fraction. Students will practice renaming mixed numbers in word problems and simplify in lowest terms. How will the lesson be taught: Doc cam, slides, whiteboard, engagement. Great class for reviewing fractions or just for beginners.
Learning Goals
Students will understand and practice improper fractions and mixed numbers. Students will understand improper fractions is equal to or greater than one. Students will understand mixed numbers is the sum of whole numbers and a fraction.Other Details
Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
