Homework
I will not be requiring homework. I occasionally create homework after class if I feel students may benefit from more independent practice. I always provide the answers for the students, so they can check.

Class Experience

US Grade 4
Want your child to feel confident about math?

In this course, we will focus on new topics each week. Each class will be different. The year will begin with third-grade material, then will switch to fourth-grade material. Each class, I will review the contents, then students will do practice with me. After I see that students are comfortable, I will ask students to do the material independently. I do this process multiple times throughout the class. By doing this process, I make sure students have a basic understanding of the topic that they will build upon throughout the class. This helps build student confidence.

I will ask students either to annotate on Zoom or hold up a whiteboard/paper. In addition, I will also use the chatbox.

How do I provide support for students?
In addition to scaffolding the material, the amount of time we spend on a topic is decided by the students. Throughout the lesson, I will ask students how they feel about a concept before we move on. This means the number of days we may spend on the material may change. I also encourage students to use the chatbox. The chatbox allows students to anonymously as a question or ask me to repeat something. Feel free to reach out about your child.

How do I determine what material to teach students?
I look at grade level standards across the country, which tell teachers what students are supposed to know. I also look at districts throughout the nation's timelines of when they are teaching specific material.

What are your qualifications?
I am general education teacher and special education teacher. I have taught over 5,000 online classes to students.
