This class includes practice of different math concepts. Each week the student will have a class focused on a specific math skill and the foundations for that skill. We will practice math skills using demonstration and active participation. The student will participate in solving math equations that better their understanding of concepts including greater than, less than, equal, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and story problems. This will help them become aware of number use in the real world. I stay aware of the students' needs and interests and adjust class content accordingly for the maximum learning benefit for each student. Students should know how to count to 100 or more, have a basic understanding of the values of numbers, and ability to write numbers. This ongoing course that can be joined at any time. Due to current request, addition of tens and hundreds will be the main focus. Week of March 4: addition/Tens and hundreds Week of March 11: addition/Tens and hundreds (regrouping and carrying) Week of March 18: addition/Hundreds with regrouping and carrying Week of March 25: multiplication/arrays
Learning Goals
*Identify numbers 0-1000.
*Identify equal, less than, greater than.
*Learn to combine numbers using addition and/or multiplication.
*Learn to subdivide numbers using subtraction and/or division.
*Learn to use numbers to solve math problems.
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Student need basic understanding of number values 0-100. Students just learning to count and attach values to numbers should consider "Counting Fun With Teacher Jodi".
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
