Class Experience

Beginner Level
During one/one sessions, students receive individualized support in their own personal challenges with executive function. Often this includes going over their daily schedule, prioritizing their tasks and designing a system that works for them, designating a binder or folder for important papers to help with organization, a simple overview of time management tools to help students manage their time more productively and finally some tips and tricks to overcome tendencies to procrastinate. Individual sessions are best for targeting specific executive function challenges and/or for students who need more intensive support in more than one area of Executive Function. Individual sessions are perfect for ongoing support throughout the school year. These sessions are taught through direct instruction utilizing slide presentations, class discussions and visual examples of strategies. The student should have at least a broad idea of what their specific challenges are, and maybe they struggle with all aspects and that's ok too.
Learning Goals
Students will learn some basic practices of time management, planning, organization and task initiation to increase productivity and lessen stress, anxiety and overwhelm.
