Homework
1-2 hours per week. See course descriptionClass Experience
This is one-on-one executive function coaching for middle and high school students. NEW OPENINGS WILL BE POSTED FOR FALL ONWARD IN MID TO LATE AUGUST. In our first session, we will evaluate the current state of the students executive function skills and then the instructor will create a plan targeted to provide the greatest impact earlier on so that families can move forward with less stress to tackle other skills. Parents are keep in the know via an e-mail message within hours of each session that includes scaffolding and support that may need to be provided at home between classes. Each week, we will open our session with a review of what was done since our last session, a discussion about the obstacles and successes around their last assignment, and a reflection that 1) builds part of their self-awareness EF skills, and 2) helps reiterate a growth mindset about the process. We will then go through instructions and skills required for the next week's task (and in some cases, this may be the same as last week's task with some improvements or revisions). Students are learning to LIVE differently. Therefore, "homework" is literally doing things that are incorporated into daily life and will be done throughout the week.
Learning Goals
