Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
This series is designed for beginning ESL students and young emergent readers.

This series teaches young students to read three simple stories, with activities designed to help them build vocabulary and reading skills. All resources and activities are online, so students can clearly see the text and visuals. I adapt my teaching to meet the need of my learners, so each series is unique to that group. Through songs and games, students are supported and encouraged to read the book independently by the end of the class. Students will learn:

	• action verbs
		○ present progressive (jumping, climbing, swinging, hiding, etc.)
		○ present simple (swim, dive, stomp, dance, etc.)
		○ past continuous (was running, was watching, was sleeping, was barking, etc.)

	• animal names: cat, dog, mouse, monkey, elephant, kangaroo, penguin, snake, polar bear, badger, flamingo

	• adverbs: quietly, loudly

	• sentence patterns
		○ He is ______-ing up the tree.
		○ I can ______ like a ________
		○ The ____ was ____ing quietly.

	• sight words: can, you, like, a, I, an, too, the, his, am, at, look, in, up, is, he,

	• Make a book:
		○ Where is the Monkey?
		○ The Quiet Night
		○ I Can Move Like an Animal
