Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 2
Beginner Level
Students will learn that in the beginning /kn/ digraph the /k/ is always silent. This occurs in words like "knight" and "knob". All resources and activities are online, so students can clearly see the text and visuals. I adapt my teaching to meet the need of my learners, so each session is unique to that group.

In this class students will…
• Sing a warm-up song to introduce the topic and vocabulary.
• Play a word-reading game with fun visuals and sound effects
• Read a short story focusing on the target phonics skill.
Use the whiteboard to write words with the target sound

If your child has a small whiteboard, please have it ready (with a marker and eraser) for a spelling game. If you do not have a whiteboard, don't worry. We can play the game another way.
