In this one day multiplication class we will practice solving two digit times one digit math equations. We will learn how to solve these problems using the standard math way. Students will learn the steps and practice explaining to others how to solve the problem and why those steps help us to solve the equations. We will also touch on the distributive property and how we can break up equations to solve them in different ways. Students will have many opportunities to talk about the process and ask questions.
Learning Goals
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.Other Details

Students will need paper and pencil or white board and marker for class.
