Hello! I'm Alice, your instructor for Connect & Thrive: Social Emotional Learning. With over eight years of experience as a dedicated public school teacher, I have had the privilege of teaching in elementary, middle and high school settings, where I've honed my skills in understanding the unique needs and challenges of students during their critical developmental years.

My journey in education extends beyond traditional classrooms. I've also worked with a not-for-profit organization, specializing in teaching life skills to students with exceptionalities. This experience has deepened my understanding of the diverse learning styles and needs within our communities. It has been my passion to create inclusive learning environments that cater to the strengths and individuality of each learner.

I hold a Master's degree in Special Education, providing me with a strong foundation in educational theory and practice. This academic background, combined with my hands-on teaching experience, equips me with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster a supportive and enriching learning environment for all participants in this Social Emotional Learning course.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every learner deserves a space where they can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. I am deeply committed to empowering students with the tools and skills they need to navigate the complexities of life, build positive relationships, and cultivate a strong sense of self.

I look forward to sharing my expertise, passion, and commitment to inclusive education with you throughout our Connect & Thrive journey. Together, let's create a learning experience that not only imparts valuable social-emotional skills but also fosters a sense of belonging and growth for each participant.
