Introduction to musical notation, rhythm, and key signatures.

🎹 Piano Technique:
Fundamentals of finger placement, hand coordination, and posture.

🎼 Melody and Harmony:
Learning to play simple melodies and basic harmonies.

🎶 Sight-Reading:
Developing the skill to read and play music from sheet music.

❤️ Music Appreciation:

How is your class structured?
At the beginning of each session, we will review material learned in previous lessons. Students will have an opportunity to show what they have been working on and ask questions. Following this, new materials and concepts will be introduced. At the end of each session, we will set goals for the following week. The method book is divided into progressive modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of piano playing. Sessions will include a combination of theory and practical exercises to ensure a well-rounded understanding of musical concepts. Students will gradually advance from basic exercises to playing complete songs.

How will you teach?
Teaching methods include a combination of live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and guided practice.

What's your teaching style?
My teaching style is student-centered and supportive, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. I believe in tailoring lessons to individual needs and pacing, ensuring that each student feels confident and motivated in their piano journey.

How much will learners get to interact with you?
Learners will have ample opportunities to interact during live sessions. I'll provide personalized feedback on their progress, answer questions, and guide them through practical exercises. The class will incorporate a mix of activities, including live demonstrations, interactive discussions, and collaborative projects.

Any required experience or knowledge learners need?
No prior experience or musical knowledge is required. This class is designed for beginners, and learners will start from the basics. All necessary materials, including sheet music and instructional resources, will be provided. A keyboard or piano for practice at home is recommended but not mandatory for participation in the class.

Growing up, I took piano lessons for nine years and achieved Grade 8 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. This rigorous training laid the foundation for my deep understanding of piano technique, musical theory, and performance.

In 2014, I earned my bachelor's degree in Music Education, where I not only honed my skills as a musician but also developed a passion for imparting musical knowledge to others. The following year, during my teaching practicum in 2015, I had the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge in a real classroom setting, solidifying my pedagogical approach.

Since then, I have been teaching music professionally, both within the public school system and through private lessons. My experience spans a diverse range of learners, from beginners discovering the magic of music to more advanced students refining their skills. This multifaceted teaching background has equipped me with the ability to tailor lessons to individual learning styles and needs.

I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, where each student can flourish in their musical journey. My goal is to not only teach the technical aspects of piano playing but also to instill a lifelong love and appreciation for music.

I am excited to share my passion and expertise with you.
